Hi I'm Eric

I grew up in Missouri. I was baptized at age 18. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born in Missouri and grew up there my whole life. I have one brother who is 8 years older than me but I have a very large extended family. When I was 17, a very close friend of mine shared the gospel with me and I was baptized 6 weeks later. I served a mission at age 20 and was married in the temple shortly after returning home. I graduated from a university with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and went on to attend medical school. I am know finishing my residency in Pediatrics. I have 4 beautiful girls. We love to swim, play outside, reed great stories and live the gospel. Nothing brings us more joy than serving others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the church is true! I was raised in a Christian faith but stopped attending our church around age 12. However, I always felt something was missing. I knew every Sunday that I needed to be in church, but I did not know where. I also have always wondered, if God called prophets in the past, why not today? Why are there so many different chruches that do so many different things? Why do some churches teach that baptism is not essential for salvation but the Bible does? I felt that there must be more. When my very close friend shared the basics of the gospel with me, I know almost immediately that it was true. The message that the missionaries shared with me was familiar, it answered all my questions and it just felt right. As I prayed for the truth, I recieved a powerful confirmation that I could not deny. As I have learned more and served more, my faith has only increased. I know the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church and in it is found the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Everything about the gospel points us to the Savior. I love the Book of Mormon. With the Bible, the Book of Mormon teaches us the plain and simple truths of the gospel The power of the book is amazing and gives me such great strength each day. I am so grateful the we have a living prophet on the earth today. With so much turmoil and confusion, how comforting it is to have guidence and direction from a prophet of God.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day by the simple acts of service and kindness in my family and to those around me.. I have found that as I look out for others before myself, I am always taken care of. In the church, my favorite work is with the youth and visiting with people. There is nothing better than to help the youth find their way and to watch them grow in their love of the Savior.
