Hi I'm Abby

I'm a mother, a wife, baker, lover of the outdoors, storyteller, bargain hunter, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom with two cute boys and an a amazing husband. We are expecting our 3rd child, a little girl, at Christmas time! I enjoy being a stay at home mom and am grateful for the oppourtunity to do so. My favorite part of the day is when I can snuggle up with my 3 year old and just enter a world of storytelling and be able to be there with him as he is learning so much. There are days when life seems hard, but there are moments I like to call shining moments when I know that being a mom and wife is a divine calling and am grateful that Heavenly Father has trusted me enough with his beautiful spirit children. I love to be outdoors as well. I love just walking around a lake or hiking in the mountains laughing with my family. I love baking and experimenting. My husband will tell you that I tend to like things a tad underdone, so most of our baked goods have a good chance of getting us sick. I also love looking for bargains; I've just started clipping coupons and I am so excited about the whole process! There are defiantly days when I feel that there are too many pressures and to much burdens placed upon me; but I realize that I am grateful for all of those times because I really believe they are making me grow into a person Heavenly Father wants me to be; although it may feel like a molasses type of growth I can really feel it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and was taught many principles to live by. Then as I graduated high school I was distracted and stopped going to church for a few years. I left where I was living and moved to a different state. There I met my husband who I feel in love with. We decided to move in together and ended becoming pregnant. After having my first son, I felt a strong urge to go back to church. Everything that I started doing was leading me back. I remember one day in particular I was going to go to church but decided to go cut down a Christmas tree with my family. We got very lost somehow on the way there and I went into a gas station to ask for directions. As I was waiting I looked over my shoulder and there was a map of D.C.; where we were at the time; with the temple on it. I just remember having an immense feeling come over me that Heavenly Father wanted me back in His church and that I needed to go back. With the help of my sister and dad I started to go back to church. This started to become a conflict because my husband is not a member nor does he want to be right now. Yet, I continued to go to church because I knew that Heavenly Father needed me in His kingdom. Why am I Mormon you may ask? There is no other thing in this world that gives me more comfort and more peace than this religion. I cannot deny that I know it's true, and although my husband is not a member and at times it breaks my heart; I am grateful that I have an oppourtunity to teach my children the way in which they need to live.

How I live my faith

Since we live in Colorado our ward building is not to far away. I am involved in the Young Women's organization in the church. I have been for about 3 years now. It is truly a blessing to see how my trials as a youth and what I have been through is now helping me to relate and help this beautiful young women. Teaching them once a month stregthens my testimony on the topics I teach; I probably get more out of it than they do.
