Hi I'm Dominic

I'm a father, a coach and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a husband and father of six children. I volunteer coach basketball, and love to learn.

Why I am a Mormon

I was able to join the Church when I was 14. At that time, I was very surprised at other youth who were my age and with conviction were able to say they knew their church was 'true'. I wanted to know how they knew that and what I could do to know. I read the Book of Mormon and I knew that it was God's word; besides, why not have another testament, another witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. In 2011, I will celebrate 25 years as a member of the Church. I was bless to serve as a missionary in France; there, I was also a witness to others who had a similar desire to know where truth is to be found.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to remember the promises I made at my baptism as well as the promises made in the sacred house of the Lord, the temple. I take the time to read the word of God in the Bible and the Book of Mormon and make sure to say my personal prayers. Every six months, there is the additional opportunity to listen to the chosen servants of God and to apply the council and teachings each day.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon, is as stated in the subtitle, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. As the Bible is a record of the Savior Jesus Christ and His teachings in ancient Israel, the Book of Mormon, is a record, of those who lived in ancient America, and it provides an additional witness of His teachings, John chapter 10 verse 16, as well as a second witness to the reality of His triumphal resurrection. The Book of Mormon completely supports the Bible it does not change it. Anyone can know the Book of Mormon is God's word. On page 529, an ancient prophet Moroni shows how in chapter 10 verses, 4 and 5. God bless! Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

We need to have and exercise faith in Jesus Christ. It is by His sacrifice, the atonement, which includes the suffering in the garden of Gethsemane, His death on the cross, and His ultimate triumph over death, the resurrection. When we exercise faith in Christ, we develop a desire to be more like Him; we want to repent, or change our heart; we want to follow Him and be baptized; and through proper authority, we can receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Our faith in Christ will lead us to do His work and know His doctrine. (see Gospel according to John Chapter 7 verse 17) Show more Show less
