Hi I'm Amelia Cherie D.

Being a Mormon makes me happy.

About Me

I live in Scotland, a place I'd never thought of living! But is beautiful and I love it here. My husband converted to the church ten years ago, and I met him soon after that. After a whirlwind romance we married in the Salt Lake Temple and shortly thereafter moved to Scotland. We now have a happy family of two little girls and a baby boy who I spend most of my days with. My husband now serves as the Bishop, or leader, of our congregation. I teach the little children at church. I work from home a few hours a week and try keep everything in balance. I love reading, cooking, laughing with friends and playing games with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons. My parents taught me the gospel when I was young. I went to Primary and Young Women programmes. But when I moved out from home, my testimony grew on its own. I had to make choices to apply principles of the gospel to my life and my experiences. Applying these principles and listening to the Holy Ghost helped me make good choices and ultimately led me to meet my husband. I love reading the Book of Mormon. I love listening to the words of the prophet Thomas S. Monson. These things give me peace and comfort in my life when I face troubling times and make me so grateful for the good times and blessings I have in my life.

How I live my faith

Right now living my faith involves living as an example to my children. It is not enough for me to tell them to pray, I need to show them. We try and study the scriptures as a family. We try and be good friends and neighbours by being loving to those around us. I am very involved in the community around us, especially through the local school. I try and apply the things I learn on Sunday into my life Monday-Saturday!
