Hi I'm Renee Nicole

I'm a Stay-at-home mother and a wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a proud mother of two wonderful children and I have been married to my sweetheart for 6 years. I love spending time with my family and children. I am a stay-at-home Mom and I feel so blessed to have that opportunity, especially in today's economy. I enjoy gardening as of late and home canning. I love to run, take photographs, and garage sale to find old furniture I can paint. I have just learned how to sew and my girls love it when I sew them clothing. I hope one day to have some land, a horse, some chickens, and a nice garden. Oh, and I love to Blog!!

Why I am a Mormon

I asked myself that same question when I was 18. I was raised in the church so it was easy to live off other people's testimonies. When I first moved to Boston at 18 I didn't know anyone and I had no family there to push me to go to church. One day I began question why I still went. Why did I put forth all this effort? I knew I needed to find the answer for myself! It was a rainy New England weekend, so I hunkered down and read The Book of Mormon. I had never taken Moroni's challenge and read it then ask to know if it's true. By the time the weekend was over I KNEW! I KNEW that the scriptures were true (Bible and Book of Mormon). I KNEW that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the true church. I KNEW that Joseph Smith, even though he was just a boy was called to be a Prophet of God. I KNEW that from that point on if I put my trust in God all things were possible! It's so wonderful to have a loving Heavenly Father that wants us to KNOW FOR US! I don't want you to take my word for it....find out for yourself! I promise that if you do, the Lord WILL answer you!

How I live my faith

Every Sunday our family looks forward to going to church. Our oldest daughter especially loves going to primary. When I am sick or her sister is sick, she asks me to call around to find her a ride so she can still go did I mention she is only 6? When we get to church I look forward to hearing the talks and the lessons that were prepared in the classes. If I truly listen with my heart, and not my head, I can hear the spirit speak to me what I needed to hear that week, or answer questions that have been on my mind. I find that the days that are the hardest for me to get to church are the days that the meetings speak to me the MOST! I try to remember to pray to my Heavenly Father each day to express my gratitude for the blessings he has given me that day, and as I do this I notice more and more little "miracles" in my life. Miracles have not ceased, we just have to be aware that they can be small. Heavenly Father knows our burdens and he tries to lift them and help us through other people and our faith. I also try to read from the Book of Mormon each day. Reading the stories of the ancient people on the American continent really helps me to feel that what I am going trough is not unique. People have tread in my path before, just in different ways. They have prayed to the same God and he answered their prayer, so I know he will answer mine. I also try to pray about any questions I have when I read my scriptures. I figure who better to ask than God right?

What is the Relief Society?

Renee Nicole
Relief Society is an AMAZING organization for women. The motto of the organization is Charity Never Failith. In Relief Society we have a weekly meeting on Sunday where we are uplifted by a spiritual lesson. We also have something called Visiting Teaching. This truly is an inspired program! You are paired up with another sister and then you are given a list of sisters to visit. It's usually one or two. Each month you go together and visit those sisters to give them a spiritual message and to make sure that they are doing well. The really important part of visiting teaching is to bring the spirit into their home through the message you bring them and to make sure they are doing well. If they need anything, then you let the Relief Society President know and she will make sure that their needs and problems are taken care of to the best of the wards ability. Each time I go Visiting Teaching I walk away feeling like I got more out of it than they did. I feel like I am making a difference. That feels good. I am so grateful to know that our Heavenly Father loves the women of the Church so much to give them their own program. This program is such a vital part of the church and without it the church would not run smoothly. The Men of the church express their gratitude often for the service the women of the church provide! When ever I hear the Apostles or Prophet speak of the women of the church I hear hear their heartfelt gratitude. We all work hand in hand! Show more Show less

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Renee Nicole
Yes! I find that so wonderful that Christ did not forget about other people. When I read the Book of Mormon I can see it testify of the Bible in so many places! The Bible and the Book of Mormon go hand in hand. It's not to replace the Bible or discredit it, but they testify of each other! I promise that as you read the Book of Mormon you too will se this. Don't just take my word for it though...read it for yourself with an OPEN HEART full of a desire to know. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Renee Nicole
That fact that you are here reading this is a great first step! You obviously have a desire to know. Next, you need to study it out in your mind first. To do this you need to read testimonies of the apostles and prophets which can be found in the document The Living Christ. Read the Book of Mormon. Come to KNOW what is in the book rather than just listening to what people say. The Lord wants YOU to get your own confirmation of it's truth and not to just rely on what the missionaries or friends say. After you do these things, kneel down in a quiet place in humble prayer. Take time to really talk to Heavenly Father and listen to the promptings of the spirit. These promptings for me are felt through a peaceful feeling in my chest or a burning in my heart. After you get your answer, follow the commandments, continue to pray and study the scriptures to keep that knowledge alive and growing. Just like a garden...when we don't tend it, it dies. I promise you though..he WILL ANSWER YOU! Show more Show less
