Hi I'm Linda

I'm an interpreter for the Deaf, a subsitute teacher, a photographer, a mom and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of two very active teenagers. My daughter is a junior in high school; active in band and her church young women's group. My son graduated in May and has decidded to serve a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. He will be serving in the Chile Concepcion South Mission. I will miss him terribly but am so proud of his decision to serve our Lord, Jesus Christ. I am married to a wonderful man I met in college. We have been married 21 years! I love being with my family whatever it is we are doing. We love to explore and learn together. I love teaching deaf pre-school kids. They are so cute and have a great love for learning. My greatest dream is to go on an Alskan cruise and photograph the beauty that is there.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents talked to the missionaries when I was a young child. They were baptized when I was just 6 years old. So, I guess you could say I grew up in the church but, a little differently than most. I grew up just outside of Denver, Colorado. I spent my high school years being in a school where a white female was a minority. Then add being a Mormon to that and I was really an oddity. There were two other Mormons in my high school. One of them being my younger brother. It could have been very easy to not live the teachings I had been taught. In fact in some ways it would have been much easier to just let everything I knew to be true go and live as the rest of my classmates did. Even as a teenager I knew that living the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ was truly the best and easiest thing to do. Even today, as I am much older, I have no doubt that Christ is my older brother, that he came to Earth to give His life for ME. He knows ME and loves ME. He is there to guide and direct me where ever I need to go. All I need to do is kneel in prayer and ask for His guidance. He will never deny me or ignore my pleas. I know that we have a living prophet on the Earth today who is here to guide us and helps us through these times. I know when I read the Book of Mormon that it is a great companion to the Bible. It is the word of God that was given to the people on the American continent. I know that God lives and that He wants us to return to live with Him as an eternal family. He wants us to be happy here on Earth as we learn and grow. I can't imagine my life without the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I continue to live my faith even today because I know that it makes life so much easier and peaceful when I have the spirit of Christ in my home. The world always wants to come crashing in to wreck havoc on our lives. With the knowledge that I am not alone with the trials it helps to find the peace I need to face the havoc straight on with no fear.

How I live my faith

I try the best I can to follow the teachings of Christ in my life. I live by the golden rule; treat others fairly. I love being able to help out my neighbors and community by serving them in their time of need. I have the great opportunity right now to be able to keep my community up-to-date with what is happening with in my church community by being the public affairs chairman. Whether it is a new buliding that is being open to the public, a group of our members getting to gether to help a subdivision after it was flooded out or Gladys Knight bringing the choir, Saint United Voices, here for a meeting I get to tell all the people in our area it is happening and how they can become involved. A few years ago I was able to help a group of people become better prepared for the unexpectedness of life. I taught them how to put away food and other nessecities for the long term. As well as a grab and go kit in case they needed to leave their homes in a hurry. I had a great time doing it and I think most pepole saw the wisdom in becoming more prepared. I love being able to live my life as Christ would want me while helping others around me.
