Hi I'm David

I'm a husband and father of two kids. I love my family and the outdoors.

About Me

I love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm grateful for my parents that raised me in the church and taught me about my Savior Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness. I know the church is true because I've prayed to know for myself and received an answer from God that it is. The Gospel helps me make sense of life, answers my questions, helps me face challenges and brings me peace.

How I live my faith

I'm not perfect, but I do my best at trying to follow my Savior. I strive to make the world a better place by serving and helping those around me.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is the authority of God to act in His name. This authority was given to prophets anciently as recorded in the Bible. Christ gave the priesthood to His apostles when He was on the earth, by the laying on of hands. This authority was lost from the earth when Christ and his apostles were killed and the true church and teachings were lost from the earth. The priesthood was restored to Joseph Smith in our days by John the Baptist and also Peter, James, and John, who appeared to Joseph and gave him the same authority by the laying on of hands. Worthy males in the church are able to hold the priesthood today. They can perform ordinances like baptism and administer blessings of healing and comfort. Show more Show less

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Baptism is necessary for all of us to become clean of our sins so that we can be able to return to live with God again. It is an outward manifestation of an inward promise we make to follow the Savior, to keep His commandments, to serve others, and to always remember Him. Once we are baptized and make these promises, then God blesses us with the Gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands by those who have proper priesthood authority to do so. What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe that the family, marriage between one man and one woman and their children, is the functional unit of God's plan. Through families we are able to receive all the blessings Heavenly Father has for us and to experience true happiness. We also believe that Satan is actively seeking to destroy the family unit and that we must do all we can to protect the sanctity of the family. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is an ancient book of scripture comparable to the Bible. It contains the history of a people that lived on the American continent before, during, and after the coming of Christ. It testifies of and contains the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and relates the history of his visit to the American continent after his death in Jerusalem. The Book of Mormon was written on gold plates and hidden in the earth for many years, until the Prophet Joseph Smith was guided to these plates and translated them into English. The Book of Mormon has since been translated into many different languages. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Faith in Jesus Christ is developed throughout our lives and is a continual process. We first need to understand and accept that He is the literal Son of God and Savior of the World, and that only through Jesus Christ we can be saved. Faith is increased as we obey His commandments, desire to increase our faith, serve others, and seek to live life the way He taught us to. Show more Show less
