Hi I'm Samuel M.

I've traveled to Austria and Germany to share the gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful woman and the father of one beautiful little girl and one handsome little guy. I enjoy golfing, basketball, camping and spending time with my family. I also like to travel whenever the money and time is available. I recently graduated with a degree in Commercial German and Business Administration.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church and was baptized at the age of 8. I see my entire childhood and teenage years as my way of becoming converted to the Church of Jesus Christ. I was able to learn the basic principles of the gospel and make decisions according to what I felt was right. My testimony of the Church has developed over time and continues to get stronger the more I study the gospel and serve my neighbors. The reason that I am a Mormon is because I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He is my Savior and has provided a way for me and my imperfections to again live with Him and my Heavenly Father. The way that I have gained this knowledge is through the life and testimony of Joseph Smith. I know that he was a true prophet of God, and that he saw and spoke with both Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He was able to restore the one and only true Church and translate the Book of Mormon. Through reading the Book of Mormon, I have learned what I need to do in order for Christ's atonement to be effective in my life and the direction that I need to go. The basic knowledge of these few simple things are the reason that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving the Church by presiding over a group of men with ages ranging from 18 to about 40. I visit neighbors and members of the church on a regular basis as well as a couple of families that I am assigned to visit and watch over each month. I try and live my faith by helping anybody in need and making sure that families and individuals are taken care of through these visits.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Samuel M.
All Mormons are encouraged to go into the temples but only if they are ready and worthy. The temples are sacred places that we can learn new things as well as make new covenants such as marriage for time and all eternity. The temples are not meant to be secret, but it is the House of the Lord and so only those who are living the gospel of Jesus Christ and are members of the Church are allowed to go in. Again, all members are encouraged to prepare themselves to go to the temple, but certain requirements must be met. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Samuel M.
Mormons absolutely believe that not only can husbands and wives be married forever, but that their entire family can be together forever. One of the great joys we have in this life is the time and love we have with our families. It would be tragic to think that those joys would die as soon as we pass away. Heavenly Father has created a plan that includes the family staying together forever. This is one of the great truths that has been restored through revelation to God's Prophets. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Samuel M.
The missionaries will bring into your home a message of Jesus Christ and his restored Church. They will teach you our belief in Christ and what his plan for us here on earth is. They will talk to you about how the Church was restored and the steps that we all need to take in order to again live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon will also be introduced and given to you, and they will ask you to read from the book and learn for yourself many truths that can be found nowhere else. The message is simple and can bring a special spirit into your home. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Samuel M.
Being a member of the Mormon Church is like being in a large family. There is a lot of work that needs to be done and all are expected to help in the ways that they can. There is always somebody that will help you if you are having a hard time, and we watch over each other to make sure all is well. One thing that I enjoy is hearing stories of faith and learning from each of the members. We all try and learn continuously even though we are all at different levels of knowledge. Show more Show less
