Hi I'm Chris Cavarretta

I joined the church while serving in the US Air Force when I was 21 years old.

About Me

I am a social worker and investigate child abuse for a living. I am also happily married with four children of my own. I love sports, New England, Boston sports teams, spending time with my family, and traveling. My wife and I met in the Air Force while stationed in New Mexico.

Why I am a Mormon

Because it is the truth. I was looking for the truth in regards to Jesus Christ and His church, which led to me to several different churches but none claimed they were in fact His church. They would say it was all relative, but I knew there was more and I wanted it. When I started meeting with missionaries and friends of the church they would say without equivocation that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was in fact, literally, Christ's church restored through a prophet. This followed the same pattern from biblical times and it intrigued me, which led to my eventual conversion.

How I live my faith

My faith is my life, it drives everything I do, as a father, husband, son, brother, etc. I am in charge of cooridnating the missionary work in my ward and love working with different families and the missionaries.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Chris Cavarretta
One of the great aspects of this church is, we are taught to "find out for yourselves." I love this because it puts the responsibility of learning gospel truths on our shoulders and holds us accountable for what we know to be true. There is no paid clergy that relies on donations or tithing to live, therefore the message is pure and the knowledge gained is purely from the Holy Ghost, a member of the Godhead! It is a wonderful thing to know that all we need to do is follow the advice given in James 1:5, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God." Show more Show less
