Hi I'm Colby Wilson

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband to a wonderful woman - Shannon. Together, we are parents to six wonderful sons.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply, I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is scripture and that Joseph Smith is a prophet, like Moses and Isaiah. I know that there is a prophet leading the Church today - Thomas S. Monson. Most of all, I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer, and for that I am eternally grateful.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by honoring the promises that I have made. I serve in both my church and my community. I am currently the bishop of my ward and love every second of it.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Colby Wilson
The basic congregational organization of the church are called wards. Each ward is a geographically based congregation. A branch is similar to a ward except that it is smaller and organized slightly differently. A stake is a group of wards in a geographic area. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Colby Wilson
The Holy Ghost, sometimes referred to as the Holy Spirit or the Spirit, is a god, like our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. While our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have bodies, the Holy Ghost does not have a body. Because of this key difference, the Holy Ghost can touch our hearts to know of truth, to give us comfort and help us become more like Jesus Christ. I have often been asked how you can know if you are feeling the Holy Ghost. I have felt the Holy Ghost in many different ways - a warmth in my heart, a small voice in my mind, a simple thought or idea. The key, for me, in recognizing the Holy Ghost, is being willing to truly listen to hear. He is always willing to communicate with us and help us feel love from our Heavenly Father, we just have to let Him in. Show more Show less
