Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in Iowa and Utah, I am a college student, a wife, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or the Mormon church as it is more commonly known, my entire life. I have been married for three years to my wonderful husband. We are both college students and I am pursuing a degree in Behavioral Science. I enjoy reading, music, and spending time outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Mormon church since I was born. We always went to church on Sunday and participated in church callings and activities. My parents taught me the principles of the gospel, of Jesus Christ and His infinite atonement, that through Him we might all return to live with our Heavenly Father. I firmly believe that there comes a time when you have to decide for yourself, independent of what others may think, whether or not the gospel is true. I had to make that decision, and from some trials and struggles, I have learned personally that that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. I can promise that this gospel is the only way to true, real, and lasting happiness. It doesn't mean that life is always easy, but I can't imagine the weight of my trials without the knowledge I have gained through living the gospel. I believe in the Book of Mormon because I have read it, and know that it's another testament of Jesus Christ. I believe that prayers can be answered because I've received answers to the questions I've asked. I've felt the Holy Ghost comfort me, guide me, and bring me peace. I believe that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins, that He paid the price for them and because of that, we can repent and someday return to live with our Father in Heaven. I have felt what the atonement does in my own life as I have made mistakes and asked for forgiveness. I believe that we have a prophet on this earth today who leads this church, President Thomas S. Monson. I know that he speaks for the Lord and that he loves us. Through this gospel I have been married to my husband in the temple, and can spend eternity with him. Nothing has brought me more happiness than this gospel.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is a daily commitment to my Heavenly Father and His commandments. I strive to learn more of Him and my Savior Jesus Christ through daily prayer, reading the scriptures (The Holy Bible and The Book of Mormon), and through weekly church attendance. I also teach the 10 year old's during sunday school. I am definitely not perfect at always reading my scriptures, but when I do I feel peace and am guided by the Holy Ghost in my life.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Katie
The first word that comes to mind in answering this question is ABSOLUTELY! We believe that when a husband and wife are married in the temple, that they are not only together in this life, but also after death, and for all eternity. We believe that families are forever, that we will always be a family, here on this earth and in heaven. It is such a beautiful thing that Heavenly Father promises us if we keep His commandments.
