Hi I'm Zachery Anthony

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I have recently returned from a mission to England (in fact, my profile picture was taken on my mission ironically). I love music. Before I left for my mission I took the top spot in my state for my instrument (the bass trombone) for two years. I absolutely loved it. I also play the Guitar and Piano, but I'm not very good at either. I work with my Father. We have a small business where we buy, sell, and restore classic cars. I find it hugely enjoyable, mostly because it's our family's business that we built. I plan on studying Business when I go to college, and once I do that I hope to help our business grow.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a member of the Church initially because my parents were members and they raised me in the Church, but once I was an adult I decided to question its truthfulness for myself. Upon doing so I found all my questions answered in a very satisfactory manner. I decided to pray and ask God of the Gospel was true. When I did so I felt deep down in my heart (and this is why I'm still a member) that everything the Church taught was completely and utterly true. I know it with all of my heart and can't deny it with any part of me. Simply put that's my testimony.

How I live my faith

Having returned home recently I'm still a bit "shell shocked". I'm still trying to adjust to home life. I continue (as I did before) to associate with all of my friends. Being a member of the church doesn't make it impossible to have friends. I find it enhances my relationships with everyone I know because I am convinced that my relations with them will continue past death.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Zachery Anthony
Mormon Women are Fantastic. In my opinion they are the best women on Earth. This isn't because being a member of the church makes anyone better than anyone else, or because of some sort of self centered egocentric class type system. Not at all. The reason I believe Mormon women are fantastic is because they understand that they are daughters of God. They understand (and so do the men) that our mother Eve was a very wise and wonderful Matriarch. They understand that it wasn't until God had created Woman that he said everything was good and done. They understand that theirs is a role that we as men can't equal (that is, the role of a mother). They are focused, tenacious, loving, kind, tender, intelligent, confident, and just all around wonderful. The Church has a very solid stance on equality between men and women. In the church we believe that men and women, although they have different roles by design, are equal in their importance. They are to be equal partners in marriage and will be equal partners in eternity. Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Zachery Anthony
We need a savior because without one we are lost. We can never go "home" (where God is) without a Redeemer. We all sin, and no unclean (sinful) thing can be in God's presence. We can't cleanse ourselves on our own, so we need someone else to help us. Jesus Christ is that person. He was sinless so he could go Heaven on Gods terms. In addition, Jesus Christ paid the penalty all of us would have to pay for our sins. He made an infinite sacrifice on our behalf, and becaus ehe didn't need that sacrifice for himeslf, and because it is infinite, he can share it with us. The terms of the "contract", if you wll, are to live the gospel of Jesus Christ (develop faith, repent, be baptized my proper authority, recieve the Gift of the Holy Ghost by the proper authority, and Endure to the End) and become his faithful disciples, or followers. Are Mormons Christians?

Zachery Anthony
Yes.To be a christian one must believe in Christ. that's why the name is CHRISTian. The name of the Church is "The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints" I think that any intelligent person can look at those two facts alone and see that we are ineed a christian church. But if that's not enough, we believe in the Jesus Christ (the same one spoken of in the new and lod testaments) as our Savior, Lord, and Redeemer. He stands at the head of the church, and His Atonement (his sacrifice for us) is at the center of everything we teach in the church. so to answer the question.. yes. we are christian. What is the Church's position on abortion?

Zachery Anthony
The Church's position on abortion (as far as I have understood it and I apologize if I mis-state any information) is a negative one. Life is sacred, and the powers to create and culture life are not to be treated whimsically. The only instances I have Learned about where abortion would even be up for consideration are the following : cases of rape or incest, instances where the mother's life is in great jeopardy if the pregnancy goes to full term, and instances where competent medical officials see that there will be no viable baby or that the child will be severely (and by that I mean irrevecably -causes death) deformed. But even in instances like these abortion isn't an immediate solution. Show more Show less
