Hi I'm Aaron

I'm a husband, father, mortgage lender, avid outdoorsman, fisherman, hunter, hockey player and coach and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a lifelong Alaskan that loves all of the things this great state has to offer. Fishing, hunting, and camping are all favorite activities of mine. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart and we have 7 awesome children together. I work as a mortgage lender and volunteer my time with various community organizations.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. Growing up I believed that there was a God and that we should all be striving for the best we were able to be each day. However, religion never really meant more to me than that. My wife is a lifelong member of the church and she introduced me to the church when we were dating in high school. I took the opportunity to meet with the missionaries and learn the beliefs and teachings of the church, about the Book of Mormon, and the plan of salvation. Initially, it all seemed intriguing but not necessarily for me. Frequent visits followed for over a year until finally I decided that I had to know if it was true or not. I knelt down in prayerto our Heavenly Father asking to know if the things the missionaries were teaching me were true, if the Book of Mormon was true, and if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true. In my prayer I committed myself to be baptized if I learned it was true. Before I could even finish my prayer I had a warm, tingling feeling come over me, starting in my chest and running throughout my body and into my arms and legs. I knew without a doubt my prayer had been answered. Since having my experience of feeling the Holy Ghost I've never looked back. Ultimately the difference for me was that the answers to my questions didn't matter until my questions did. Until I was ready to believe it and act upon that belief the answers weren't there for me.

How I live my faith

I serve as the executive secretary to our Stake Presidency (the leaders of a large geographic area) and help to coordinate many events and meetings. I have served as a leader of youth for many years as well and feel fortunate to have had that opportunity. I also enjoy serving members of my church and local community in times of need.
