Hi I'm Anna

I'm a divorced mother of two. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a single mom of two boys, life is not easy. Being divorced has its challenges! But when I look around at all the blessings I have, including wonderful family and friends who help me so much, I realize I have much to be thankful for. I love to dance, take photos of God's creations, and spend time with those I love most. I worked very hard to get my college degree and I encourage my sons to try their best in school and to set goals for their own education.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I grew up Mormon, there have been those turning points in my life when I had to decide once again if I truly believed. My faith has been tried, tested, pulled, and stretched but always in the back of my mind I could not deny the peace I felt when I followed the teachings of the Gospel. Many aspects of the Gospel make sense to me logically but more than that, my heart feels it is true. I served a mission, which is something optional for young women in the Church, and that really strengthened my testimony. I remember one incident when someone said very angrily, "You don't believe in what you're saying," and I felt this strength rise within me. It wasn't anger but a spiritual power. I really did know, with everything that was in me, and I told them with all the conviction I possessed, "Yes I do. I know it is true."

How I live my faith

The teachings of Jesus Christ guide me in everything I do. As I choose what movies or TV shows to watch, what music I listen to, the clothes I wear, and even what words I say, I ask myself if it is in harmony with the Gospel. I read the scriptures with my children because I know the strength it gives me and I want my boys to have that strength as they go out into the world every day. I play the piano at church and it gives me great joy to know that I can help contribute to the spirit of a meeting with beautiful music.

What is the Law of Chastity?

The dictionary says chastity, or being chaste, is to be modest, innocent and sexually pure. The Law of Chastity is that men and women will refrain from any sexual activity outside of marriage. I've had many non-Mormon friends comment how difficult it must be to obey the Law of Chastity. While it is not easy at times, I know that there are blessings that come from obedience. Following traffic laws help us stay safe while driving. Following spiritual laws, like the Law of Chastity, help keep me safe both physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Show more Show less
