Hi I'm Thomas

I'm a student, I'm a runner, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love going to school! Right now I am in the process of getting ready for law school. I love to run, go paint balling, and watching movies with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 20 I wanted to find out for myself if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the true church of God or not. I picked up a copy of The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ and began to read it from cover to cover. When I got to about half way through the book I came across a passage that helped me a lot. It said that if I compared the word of God to a seed, then planted and nourished it in my life, that that seed would grow and I would feel a burning of goodness in my chest. And when I felt this feeling then it meant that the word of God was true. Once I read that I decided that I would nourish the words that were in the Book of Mormon. I began to pray to know if the words were good, I continued to study them, I fasted to develop spiritual sensitivity to discern whether this was indeed the word of God, and I began to live and apply the teachings that were found in the Book of Mormon. As I did this I slowly started to feel a burning within my chest. It was a feeling of love, a feeling of truth, a feeling of peace, a feeling of eternal happiness. I now know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Book of Mormon are indeed the true teachings of Jesus Christ for myself. The experiences I have had since then have only solidified this testimony. Those feelings were of God telling me through the Holy Spirit that this is truly His church and that, along with the Holy Bible, the Book of Mormon is His word to guide was back into His presence to live with Him in a fullness of joy. Because of the great impact of this event I know that God will answer all of our prayers to whether or not The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church. I invite all to read the Book of Mormon and pray and ask God if it is true or not. I know that He will answer you because He loves you.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith my exemplifying how Jesus Christ served others. I often volunteer helping the blind community. I also volunteer in other community efforts to provide food to those who need it the most. Within the church, I am currently serving others by visiting those that are not familiar with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in my local area and explaining to them what the church believes. I also served as missionary for the church for two years in Idaho.

In whom should we have faith?

I believe that a person should have faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Redeemer. Through accepting Jesus Christ in our hearts and living His commandments, with a hope that good will come to us and our families by doing so, we will draw closer to Jesus and know Him better. Our faith should be rooted in Jesus Christ only. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is the power and authority of God given to man to bless and benefit God's children. When Jesus walked the Earth He had this power and authority. He gave this same power and authority to His twelve Apostles (their title signified that they were different, their title signified they had this priesthood) which then gave them the right to act as stewards in His church. That priesthood was taken away from the Earth once the Apostles were killed by unbelievers but has been brought back to the Earth, under the direction of God, so that we could have proper stewards to govern the affairs of God's church. There is a Prophet and twelve Apostles on the Earth right now who hold the priesthood. Show more Show less
