Hi I'm Colton

I'm a Pre-Dental student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 22 year old return missionary. Before my mission I was a student preparing to apply to Dental School and now I'll be back at it. I played Football, Baseball, and Basketball throughout school and love competition.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon for many reasons. For love, for family, for friends, for knowledge, for safety, for security, for hope, but most of all, for Jesus Christ. I was raised in the LDS church by a loving family who wanted everything for me. Maybe thats why they taught me about this church.

How I live my faith

Part of my mission for the church was served in Birmingham England.Yes the cliché white shirt and ties that knock your doors But now, I continue to serve online with Mormon.org, teaching others about the gospel of Jesus Christ through the chat feature. I've had the chance to speak to thousands of people worldwide with almost every religious background and have grown so much for it. If there is one thing that I've learned serving, it's that Jesus Christ's love transcends all nations, religions, backgrounds, cultures, languages and people. I know that the only way to live is to serve, and through my service for others I've found the true meaning to life.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Missionary service in the church is voluntary. Because we choose to serve the Lord, we also provide the means whereby we serve. Each missionary pays a set rate for 18 monthsSisters or 2 yearsElders of service. These funds, along with a portion of the generous tithing from members, are then delegated round the world to fund the efforts. Missionaries live off a modest monthly stipend to supply their day to day needs. This amount varies according to monetary need and value in said area of service. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

In order to help others find the joy and happiness that comes through Jesus Christ, I must share what I know. I think of it just like my favorite restaurant, movie, or sports team. When you believe something strongly enough, the first thing you want to do is tell someone about it! For missionaries, we feel that we're carrying with us what the gospel is referred to sometimes, the "good news." And because we have this good news and have an understanding that we're all children of God, we are passionate about helping our brothers and sisters worldwide come to know what we know. Just like your brother John Doe screams when his team wins, we preach our "good news." Show more Show less
