Hi I'm Aaron

Senior in college, 23 years old, and my family means everything to me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

So I'm a Business Management/Marketing student in my senior year. I am excited about the future but honestly have no idea what I'm going to do when I graduate. My wife and I have been married since early 2009 and have a little girl that is 2 months old. I love spending time with them! I come from a large family of 9 kids. I have six brothers and two sisters and always look forward to being together with them. I'm excited for our family reunion in about a month. In my spare time, I love to play basketball. I enjoy being outside and especially enjoy the mountains and nature. I like to play piano but am not outstanding at it by any means. Remote-controlled airplanes is something I love doing and am working on my first gas-powered plane. One last thing is that my family lived in France for about 5 years growing up, and foreign cultures and languages fascinate me.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always felt a spiritual connection in my life, and growing up my parents taught me about God my relationship with him. My parents are Mormons and I was raised Mormon, but when I became a teenager I started to realize the value of what I had been taught. I wondered if the things I had grown up with were true. I had no question God's existence or even about God's love for me, but I guess that I wondered about Mormonism being the true church of God. I read the Book of Mormon on my own when I was 14, and I felt the truthfulness of it very stongly. My convictions really became personal at that time and I have never looked back since. I have put my trust in God and have seen how much he has blessed me as a result.

How I live my faith

What I believe is a very big part of my life. Recently my daughter was given a baby blessing in church and was an important event in my family. As a family, we read stories from the Bible and Book of Mormon and try to live what Jesus taught. Since my wife and I have been married less than two years, we get to teach a marriage preparation class to members of our church who aren't married yet. It's a blast!

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Aaron
I have no doubt that I can be with my wife forever and also with my daughter and any other children we will have together. It's my greatest hope in life. Knowing that helps my wife get through the hard times and struggles that we have together. It gives us perspective and a desire to work hard at our relationship. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Aaron
No, we help everyone. Or, at least according to what we believe, we should. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Aaron
Faith plays an important role in knowing Heavenly Father. We have to understand that we are His children and that he loves us even when we make mistakes. If you pray and try to do your best to live a good life, you'll start to feel and know that he is there and loves you. You have to have a real desire to know. As you follow His commandments, you see the blessings and will start to realize that He is there. Show more Show less
