Hi I'm Steve

I'm an American school counselor in the Middle East. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wife and three kids. I like to read mostly science fiction and fantasy. I know Arabic. I sing in a madrigal choir, play tabletop roleplaying games, and make chain maille trinkets for my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

When I pray to God and ask whether the LDS faith is the right path, I receive spiritual confirmations. When I live Christ's teachings, those same spiritual confirmations come. Because I know Jesus's sacrifice and resurrection have freed me from death and sin, I have peace in my heart, and confidence and hope for life with my family after death. That freedom from fear is one of Jesus Christ's greatest blessings to me.

How I live my faith

We study scriptures individually and together each day, and we have a Family Home Evening each week where we try to teach our kids to love and serve others as Christ does. We try to be peacemakers. We participate in church activities regularly and help plan spiritual and fun activities for the youth and children of our congregation. We try to ease our neighbors' burdens. I enjoy working side by side with people of other faiths to strengthen our community through service and shared support.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, undoubtedly. If your definition of Christian is someone who has accepted Jesus Christ as the only source of salvation from sin and death, we're as Christian as they come. Every day I invite Him to help me let go of my will and let His will direct my thoughts and actions. I study His example. I rely on Him alone for Grace and strength to live in His way.
