Hi I'm Karl L. Pearson

I'm a Latter-Day Saint

About Me

Hi. I'm a senior systems engineer. That means I spend much of my time helping others solve problems that are beyond their abilities or outside the scope of their responsibilities. I have always enjoyed helping others because it's so personally fulfilling to see someone's face light up when something that wasn't working, starts working again.

Why I am a Mormon

Why? First because I was born in the church, under the covenant, which means my parents were married in one of our beautiful temples where they made sacred covenants to be faithful to each other and remained so throughout their lives. Though both my parents have died, I'm confident they are together in the Spirit World, and beyond that, I know their marriage will last forever. As my parents, I have become truly converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is taught in its fulness here, and know for myself the sweetness of Christ's sacrifice that I might, through my own consistent obedience, and through His Grace, given freely, become the person He wants me to become, and who I should strive sincerely to become.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is a very interesting, and maybe general, question. But from my perspective, I live my faith by acting in a manner that I trust will be pleasing to my Savior. He alone it is to whom I owe homage and the power of His atonement is crucial to the happiness I feel, and the confidence I have in how I live my life. A very large, and important part of that is acting consistently when I'm alone or when I'm around others.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Karl L. Pearson
Authority to perform an ordinance necessary for entrance into God's Kingdom must necessarily be performed with authority granted by Him. We have that authority. No one else does. I make that statement without apology. I would love to talk to you if you honestly wish to know why. I'm not interested in a discussion which might result in contention. Contention drives away the Spirit through which all holy truths are learned. Show more Show less
