Hi I'm Steve

I'm a runner.

About Me

I have lived in both the Western and Eastern United States, Australia, and Mexico. Fortunately, I've only lived in incredible places. Maybe it's my attitude, but I think that the places are incredible as well. Growing up in an airline family, I was able to travel all over the United States and Europe and have wanderlust. Hopefully, I can travel more. Such a background inspired me to study International Relations as an undergraduate and to try many different types of food and attend wonderful events from many different cultures. Running is a passion of mine. While I don't do races a lot, I run six days a week.

Why I am a Mormon

Both sides of my family have been Mormons for several generations, and I feel that it is an honor to carry on the tradition of faith. It is very important to note that I have questioned and pondered the doctrine of my church and have gained my own testimony of its truth. Further, the Mormon church inspires me to strive to live a better life since I am surrounded by so many incredible people in my local congregation. Further, after moving several times in my life, it is always comforting that I automatically have friends through church wherever I move.

How I live my faith

My faith leads me to act. I enjoy helping out in my local congregation by teaching, helping coordinate and execute events, and finding ways to serve others.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

When I served a Mormon mission there were several important things I shared with people who spoke with me. However, each item relates to how we have a loving God -- whom we refer to as "Heavenly Father" -- who loves us and gave us this life and our bodies to learn and grow by acting and learning for ourselves. By doing this through our own will, we can grow more like Him. However, He expected us to make mistakes. That is why He gave us our Savior Jesus Christ, scriptures, prophets, the Holy Ghost, family (by same ancestry and/or other people who we personally cherish and rely upon), and good friends to grow. As we take advantage of these gifts, we can overcome our mistakes by accepting the Gospel. By following Christ's example, we can repent of our mistakes, find peace, and live with our loved ones for eternity. Show more Show less
