Hi I'm Sasha

I'm a home schooling mom of eight. I love to teach and help people become their best selves. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is the Russian nickname for Alexander. It means "Helper or Defender of Mankind". I have always loved this because I love to help others feel good about themselves and have the knowledge they need to live a happier, healthier life. As a mom of eight children that are getting older all the time, I do my best to help them to be the best they can be. I have spent a significant part of my life reading. I read everything. I just love to know. In the last two years, I have turned one of my loves of teaching into a home business that has led to new experiences for our whole family. At the same time it has been a challenge to balance my roles as wife, mother, and business owner. I am grateful for opportunities to learn. My husband is my best friend. I love spending time with him. He is the reason I am able to be home with my children and continue to learn and grow in the ways that I have. I am so grateful for my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are converts to the Church. They taught me to love truth and to recognize the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Through these promptings I have been led to accept the gospel myself. The Holy Scriptures have always been a huge part of my life. I love the feeling I get when I read them. Sometimes I feel peace, other times excitement. Always when I read the Book of Mormon I feel truth. I know the scriptures are true. The teachings of Jesus that I have learned through the scriptures have led me to a testimony of all of His gospel. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet. He did the work that God gave him. He translated the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of God. The keys he held by which he restored the Gospel have been passed down through the prophets and are now held by Thomas S. Monson. It is such a blessing to have the words of a modern prophet today. We have all the guidance the Lord wants us to have, if we will listen to His servants, the Prophets. I will be forever grateful for my testimony of the gospel. I know that Jesus is my Savior and Redeemer. I know that the words of the Bible are true, that He lived, taught, healed, suffered, and died, then rose again. I know that He has set up his Church in these last days before He comes again so that He can gather those who will come unto Him. I am excited to be part of His work in this day and time. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church. As the world becomes more and more confused about what is right and wrong, I am so grateful for the knowledge of this gospel. As more and more begin to fear about the future of this world, I know who is at the helm. I know there is a plan for my children and that plan includes some pretty amazing experiences. This gospel allows me to look forward with faith and joy to the future.

How I live my faith

I spend the bulk of my time teaching my children. I love to be able to incorporate the gospel into every subject they learn. I love to be able to share, when we are learning something in history, or science, or math, a gospel principle that relates to that subject. I want them to see how everything testifies of Christ. I love helping young mothers to become excellent teachers of their own children. I love to share the gospel with friends and family and to support those causes that futher the work of the gospel or help to make families stronger. Most recently, I have been helping the littlest children in our church to learn the gospel and love to be at church. They are so important to the Savior and I love to be with them. I believe that we all have talents to explore and perfect. Often, we think that our own aren't very important or needed. But I feel that part of our devotion to God is shown in how we take our gifts from him and expand them and grow. As I have built and continue to build a home business and work with those that are part of it, my talents are strengthened, weaknesses are identified and turned to strengths, and my desire to grow closer to my heavenly Father also grows. I know that I need him in all that I do, not just in family life, or church service, but also in my work. I also get the opportunity to help others along the same journey.
