Hi I'm Ashley Michelle

I'm a wife. A mother. A movie lover. An avid reader. An optimist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a homemaker with a young family that my husband and I are hoping to grow. I feel very blessed to be able to stay at home with our daughter while my husband finishes grad school. We all have a LOT of fun together! We don't go out much, and prefer to stay home playing together or watching a movie or episode from our current TV show (right now we're working on Star Trek: Voyager and we LOVE it!) but we have fun exploring things together. I couldn't ask for more!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know it's the true church. It was introduced to me when I was 20, and every time I learned something new, it just made SENSE. I knew it was who and where I wanted to be. I'm a Mormon because I have felt in my heart many times that the doctrine is true. I'm a Mormon because as I have lived the principles and laws of the Gospel, my life has transformed. I am a happier, healthier, more well-adjusted person who is much more capable of success throughout life because I have embraced the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. With everything in me, I know that this church is true. I am not only a witness of that statement, I am evidence of it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith the only way I know how to live anything, one day at a time. I try my best to be a good example of what a disciple of Christ should be--some days I feel like I do a good job, and others I know I can do better. But I keep trying. I work hard to make sure I incorporate personal worship into my daily routine through prayer and studying the scriptures. I take time with my husband to engage in gospel conversations and make goals with him toward our spiritual progression. I also do what I can to teach my daughter about our faith--she doesn't understand what we're doing when we pray, but she knows when it's time to and what to do with her hands! I live my faith by teaching the women in my congregation and supporting my husband in his responsibilities for the church. I live my faith by seeking out the Lord with all my might, mind and heart.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Ashley Michelle
The best way to know if Mormonism is true is to pray about it. Before I joined the church, many members shared their testimony with me, that they knew the church was true. This was helpful to me, but it wasn't until I tested it for myself and prayed about my experiences that I gained a testimony of my own. Pray to Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ to know whether or not Mormonism (or anything about it) is true. Then take time to listen to your heart and pay close attention to your feelings. God answers our prayers through the Holy Ghost, and the Holy Ghost often answers in a "still, small voice". Show more Show less

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Ashley Michelle
A ward is a local congregation, determined by geographic boundaries. Often, more than one "ward" holds worship services and activities in the same church building. A branch is also a local congregation, though smaller than a ward. A stake is a group of wards and branches in a larger geographic area than a ward. Show more Show less
