Hi I'm Clint

I'm pretty tall but I don't play basketball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married for 11 years and have 4 children. I was working on a Ph.D. but I'm taking a break from it for a while. My favorite thing to do is to go camping/hiking with my family. Really, I just like to do anything with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon by good parents. However, my faith as an adult came after much personal study and prayer. I read the Old and New Testaments and the Book of Mormon. I pondered and prayed intently for quite a while before I received a witness from the Holy Spirit. I now know that Jesus Christ is God's Son and my Savior. I know that the Bible and Book of Mormon are God's word. The Holy Spirit guides my life daily as I learn to become a better servant of the Lord.

How I live my faith

I view being a husband and father as the most important roles I play in my faith. I try to pray morning and night with my family and read from the scriptures with them each day. I attend Sunday meetings with them and support them in their church activities and assignments. I also serve as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scout troop that is sponsored by my congregation. My scouts in my troop are young men from ages 12-14. In addition, I serve as a teacher on Sundays at church for the same young men. I have spent most of my adult life serving as a youth leader in the Church.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Mormons' relationship with Joseph Smith could be compared to the children of Israels' relationship with Moses in the Old Testament. There is a profound respect and love for the man but also a recognition that he is just a servant and instrument in the hands of the Lord. The only true worship is that of our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. In Moses' day, if a person wanted to worship the Lord they would have to follow His message as delivered by His prophet Moses. In our day, we believe that if a person wants to worship the Lord they must follow His message as delivered by His prophets today, including the first prophet in our day, Joseph Smith.
