Hi I'm Becky

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

About Me

I am married, have five children, sixteen grandchildren. I work as a high school secretary as well as a highway district clerk.

Why I am a Mormon

In my senior year of high school, I was searching for something. I read the Joseph Smith story. One thing really stood out to me was the scripture James 1:5, where it states, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him". I pondered on this scripture. I thought if Heavenly Father would answer Joseph Smith, He would answer me! I knelt and prayed if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true. As I knelt there, I felt the powerful feeling and knowledge come over me. I know that Heavenly Father lives! I know He knows me! I know Jesus Christ lives! Through this example of a modern day prophet, my prayer was answered! I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know Heavenly Father answers prayers; He knows us by name and He provided a beautiful plan for us. He has given us a Savior to provide a way for us to return back to His presence. He has restored the Priesthood back on earth today which enables us to be able to be sealed for Time and All Eternity to our loved ones. We have a prophet that leads and guides us today! I am a Mormon because I am a Daughter of God who loves Him!

How I live my faith

Living my faith is life. I love serving my Heavenly Father! I think that is my biggest desire is to always be in His service. I have had the privilege of serving in many areas of the gospel. Serving in the church has helped me to grow as I've served with the children, the adults and my favorite was working with the youth. It's fun to do service project with the youth! I love helping others build unity and I love to create ways to have others feel the Savior's love for them. I love creating fun ways to have my family feel the Spirit and know that they are Children of God. One of the neatest thing I have done is becoming an eternal family! Watching all my children be sealed in the Temple!

What is the difference between attending a Mormon Church and a Mormon Temple?

Attending Church we are able to participate in partaking of the Sacrament. This is so we can renew our covenants that we took upon ourselves at baptism. At baptism, we promised our Heavenly Father that We were willing to take upon His name, always remember Him and Keep His Commandments. As we attend church we learn basic principles that help us learn about our Savior, who He is, the gospel plan. As we grow each week by attending church, keeping the commandments and having our testimonies grow, we can choose to qualify or become worthy to obtain a temple recommend. This recommend allows us to go to the temple and gain more knowledge and take on more covenants with the Lord. Attending the Temple is where we are able to learn and participate in doing work for those who have gone before us. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Heavenly Father loves us very much and He shows us daily that He is there if we will listen or observe. The beautiful sunrise each morning to brighten our day is one evidence to me. He has created this beautiful world for us to enjoy. I know He has put people in my life when I needed their talents to bless me. He has provided means to protect me from weather and harm. I ponder on the incredible creations that are here on earth and know that the Lord created all of this. That is evidence to me that God exists. Show more Show less
