Hi I'm Sara Diane

I'm an editor. I'm a big sister. I'm a half-marathoner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am working on a master's degree in linguistics. I love the English language. I am the oldest of five fabulous children and I love my family very much. I like to run, hike, hang out with friends, and watch movies. My favorite movie is the Lion King.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are faithful Mormons and taught me since I was young to pray and read the Book of Mormon. When I became a teenager, there was a lot of pressure to "fit in" with the crowd—but I felt different from my peers and thought I wasn't as interesting, pretty, or smart as they were. I had learned to pray when I was young, and I kept praying for comfort. As I prayed and read the Bible and Book of Mormon, I felt peace and knew that I was a daughter of God. I knew Jesus Christ lived and loved me, and I wanted to follow Him. I knew that although I wasn't perfect, God loved me and wanted me to be happy. The gospel helped me develop a sense of self-esteem and taught me to love myself. I determined to live the gospel, and although my life hasn't been perfect, I never looked back.

How I live my faith

I attend a congregation for college-age singles, and I lead a group that gets together every Monday night to study the gospel and play games. I love singing hymns and trying to learn how to play them on the piano—I'm not very talented, but I have fun anyway. Music helps me feel close to God, as does reading good books.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Sara Diane
Because they want to share what they know. The gospel has brought so many blessings to our families and our lives that it doesn't seem fair to keep it to ourselves. Show more Show less
