Hi I'm Daniel

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

About Me

I am 25 years old and have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for my whole life. I was married two years ago and my wife and I are the proud parents of a 1 year old little boy. I am currently attending Law School in Phoenix Arizona and am excited to see what the future holds.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that has been in the church for many generations. I was taught since I was quite young the principles of the gospel and about the restoration of the true church of Jesus Christ to the Earth. I always believed what I was taught, but I didn't know for myself until I was a little bit older. When I was about 17 a friend began asking me questions about the Church and eventually he began talking with the missionaries in my home. When the time came for me to answer some questions and to bare my testimony, I realized that if I was going to testify that the Church was true that I needed to know - not only believe - that the Church was true. I began to read the Book of Mormon again and to pray each night if the Church and what the missionaries were teaching was true. As I did this many thoughts came to my mind and the Book of Mormon just made so much sense to me. Then, one night as I was kneeling and praying I had an overwhelming feeling of peace and happiness which filled my mind and my heart. From that point on I knew that the Church was true and I was able to testify with more confidence that the Church was true. I am now 25 and my testimony has continued to grow over the years. I served a mission and saw miracles, and now that I am married and have a one year old little boy, I am determined to have a home where the spirit of the Lord will reside and where my children will be able to feel that their Heavenly Father loves them.

How I live my faith

I was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for two years and it was a wonderful experience. I was able to see people change their lives by living according to the gospel of Jesus Christ. I visit families and individuals who live in my neighborhood to share a message with them and to help them with any needs that they might have.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believes in a book called the Book of Mormon. It contains a record that was written between 600 BC and 421 AD by prophets who lived in the Americas. One of the last prophets who wrote in the book was named Mormon and he compiled the writings from the other prophets who came before him and put them into one record. When the record was translated it was given the name "The Book of Mormon" after Mormon the prophet. Because the Book of Mormon is one belief that sets members of the Church apart from other religions, people began to use the name "Mormon" to describe members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
