Hi I'm Mark

I talk with my hands for a living (sign language interpreter). I'm a husband, a dad-to-be, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Sign Language interpreter. One day, I'll write a good book...but for now, I just read 'em! I love my wife, and our family is fast growing into three persons.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon, but always make sure to tell those who inquire about my religious preference that I "know for myself." Growing up in the church did not automatically make me converted to Mormonism. It did however give me the wonderful opportunity to have the truths of the Gospel presented clearly to me and in their entirety. I am forever grateful for my parents who raised me with the Gospel, giving me the greatest of opportunities. Concerning the Book of Mormon being a true book, manifesting true doctrines, translated by an authorized Prophet of God with His Priesthood authority, I have "fasted and prayed many days that I might know these things of myself. And now I do know of myself that they are true; for the Lord God hath made them manifest unto me by his Holy Spirit; and this is the spirit of revelation which is in me." (Book of Mormon, Alma 5:46)

How I live my faith

Recently, our Prophet spoke in a general conference (a church meeting that takes place every 6 months). He said "I believe the Savior is telling us that unless we lose ourselves in service to others, there is little purpose to our own lives." This greatly affected me. I began taking measures to apply the Prophet's words in my life. The act of actively striving to obey the Prophet's words brings blessings of protection in our spiritually dangerous world. It has also brought me increased happiness. Who knows what the future brings; but it will be bright if we follow the Prophet!

Are Mormons Christians?

We are Christians in the truest sense! We seek to emulate Christ. We believe in the very Christ who is the only Begotten Son of God the Eternal Father, born in the flesh to the mortal mother Mary. Christ who performed miracles out of love, taught principles of faith in Him, inspired Hope in all, atoned for the sins of the world, and overcame death for all who ever live. Show more Show less
