Hi I'm Rebecca
I grew up in Silicon Valley and am a computer nerd. I'm also a Mormon.
About Me
I love animals and volunteer with an animal rescue group. I also love natural health. And, my sisters and I are launching a new business together, too! Top that off with my regular day job as marketing manager, I am pretty busy!! (But I love it!) I love business, entrepreneurial ideas, and just have to find ways to keep myself busy every minute of the day. Definitely a type A person... and rarely have any downtime. And if I do, I love to read. I love murder mysteries, suspense novels, etc. I used to play hockey and soccer but now life is just too busy for that extra recreation, and I now get most of my exercise playing with my dogs or working in my garden.
Why I am a Mormon
I had the easy part of being born into the church. My parents found the church together and were able to fully accept all the gospel principles. I am so thankful for them, for the values and doctrines I was taught as a child and growing up. Why am I still a Mormon? Because it just ROCKS!! The gospel of Jesus Christ is just amazing. Everything fits together. The pieces of the puzzle of "life" fit together now!
How I live my faith
I am definitely learning as I go, to be more devoted and to not try to do everything all at once. I mean, it is almost impossible to be perfect overnight! Some goals I have set for myself include daily scripture reading and prayer. I am currently reading in the Book of Mormon, but after I finish, I am starting the Old Testament. Another thing I am doing to heed the counsel of the Prophets is food storage and provident living. This is a new thing for me, and I have embraced it enthusiastically!! We are preparing ourselves to be more self reliant each month. I have planted fruit trees, a huge garden, and am going to learn to can foods. I am learning how to make meals from our food storage. In the scriptures it tells us that if we are prepared, we shall not fear. As a result, one of the blessings I now experience is peace. I have to tell you peace cannot be bought or sold... but once you have it, it is remarkable.
