Hi I'm Greg

I love Jazz music, snowboarding, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am recently returned from serving a mission in Knoxville Tennessee. I found many wonderful people there who have influenced my life beyond anything I though possible. I'm grateful for the experience I had there. I currently am preparing to attend college again to enter the Law profession. I've been through the hard times, I know more are coming... but I have confidence in the Lord because of what I know and have learned as a member of this church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have felt the power of the Holy Ghost teach me that Jesus Christ loves me. I know of a surety that Jesus Christ restored His church and authority permission to the earth through Joseph Smith. I am so grateful for the knowledge of a loving Heavenly Father, who picks me up when I'm down, raises me higher as I climb, and builds me every single day. I love the Book of Mormon more and more each day. I know that it contains the doctrine of Jesus Christ in it's entirety. I know it is the word of God. I love and revere those prophets whose stories are contained within it's pages. As a missionary, I was able to see the light turn on in the eyes of those who first read the Book of Mormon. They FEEL the still, small voice of the spirit of God. He literally speaks, and says to them "Do you feel me? It IS true." I have a testimony of that powerful feeling. I have felt it in my life as I searched to know for myself that this is true. I know it is. I know it because I learned it from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, through the Holy Ghost. Nothing can ever convince me otherwise. Do you want more in life? I know I did. Test the Lord. Read what He is saying today... and then ask. He will tell you it is true, just like He did for me.

How I live my faith

As a recently returned missionary, I am planning out my life. I know that if I apply the principles contained in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I will be happy. I feel the peace that comes from personal prayer and daily study of the scriptures. I hope I can serve in whatever capacity I am called to. That's what I love about this church-- It's not a church of "whoever is the best gets the best calling"-- it's all about service and learning. We all learn together. Some people are given more responsibility then others, but after a period of time, they are released and someone else is given that responsibility. It is wonderful.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Being a missionary in the southern US, I met many wonderful Christians who have a very powerful love for the Holy Bible. I love it too. I read it as much as possible. I know it is the word of God given through His prophets all throughout time. It's given me the knowledge of who Jesus Christ was, of the miracles He performed. Many think that the Book of Mormon is another version of the Bible. They are definitely seperate, and I'm grateful for both of them. I'm grateful for the knowledge that God speaks to all of his children. I know that they work hand in hand to show the world that Jesus is the Son of God and the Savior of the World. That is a powerful thing to witness of. I know it is true.  Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

They are sent as representatives of the Church to teach everyone the purpose of this life, where they came from, where they are going-- all the questions of the soul that philosophers have been pondering for centuries. The answers to these and other questions are found because God and Jesus Christ appeared to the boy Joseph Smith in 1820. Jesus Christ is central to our message. His sacrifice is what has made our salvation possible. In essence, what they talk about is truth that helps you to find meaning in, and overcome the trials of your life. They simply will share our message and invite you to learn more about these basic truths. Understanding our message comes over time as you keep the commandments of God, read the scriptures, and pray. God will give you the answer to the question, "Is this true?" if you will simply ask with a sincere heart.  Show more Show less
