Hi I'm M. Barclay

My name's Matt. I grew up outside of Toronto, Canada. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married and a dad. I'm completing a doctorate degree in instructional design. I speak French and love the language.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born into a Mormon family, I continue in this church for reasons beyond that. I have a conviction that it is what it claims to be: the restored Church of Jesus Christ, led by the Savior Himself.

How I live my faith

My family and I go to church on Sundays. At church, my wife and I teach a course on family improvement. We also try to follow the Savior's teachings throughout the week in our regular daily activities.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

M. Barclay
Mormons believe in God, our Heavenly Father, in the Savior Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. But what does that mean, really? We believe we are all children of God. That He is our father, that He has a body and is a personable, knowable being. So is Jesus. We believe that we lived with Them before coming to earth. Our life here is a necessary part of our development and we all chose to come here in preparation for greater things that lie beyond this life. We need the Savior to help us in that preparation because there are critical things that we need to do and become but we cannot do it all on our own. This is part of God's design. If we want, He will help us to know the happiness He knows. As in anything worthwhile, there are things that we must do to achieve this. It takes work, dedication, and endurance. It is a process and the benefits of keeping at it are invaluable. Show more Show less
