Hi I'm Danielle Laraine

I am married, with one child. I love being a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music, especially singing. When I am sad, good music makes me feel happy and calm. I love to read. I especially love to read books to children. I am a volunteer storyteller for children at my local library. I love to sing songs with them and read fun stories. I am the mother of a beautiful daughter, whom we adopted. I love being with her and being her mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I am always striving to be more like my Savior every day. I want to be like Him and treat others like He does. I love studying the scriptures and thinking about what they mean. I love to read the Bible as one testimony of Jesus Christ. I also love reading the Book of Mormon. It is such a powerful book that also teaches of Jesus. My favorite part is when Jesus Christ visits the people in the American Continent after He is resurrected. I feel so blessed to have more words that the Savior taught these people as well as other prophets. When I read the scriptures, pray, attend the temple, go to Church, and serve others, I feel closer to my Savior and learn more about His amazing love for me.

How I live my faith

I love that our church gives lots of opportunities to serve others. I have a few women that I visit every month. We talk about the scriptures and gospel topics. I pray about them and think about them during the month. As I serve them, I learn to love them. Right now I help organize activities twice a month for girls ages 8-11. They are an energetic group who love to learn. We do different activities that develop their talents, strengthen their faith in Jesus and teach them to serve others. Our favorite activity was a "Daddy Daughter Dinner" near Valentine's Day. The girls learned about etiquette and formal table settings. They helped decorate the room and even made some of the food. They each invited their Dad or another male figure in their life they were close to. They all came dressed in their nicest clothes. One father even bought his daughter a corsage. They had a nice meal, pictures taken, then dancing with their Dads afterward. It was a lot of fun.
