Hi I'm Susie

I have a family heritage of music and a love of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I am a happily married mother of four and a grandmother of three children. I am a musician. I play the cello and I have sung with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir since 1996. We have had alot of family members in the choir. My daughter represents the sixth generation in the Tabernacle Choir.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because that is the way I was brought up in a very good family. I have never deviated from my activity in the Church. This is what has brought me the exquisite happiness and joy that I feel in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by performing every week with the Tabernacle Choir. I share my testimony through song. Sometimes music can portray the Spirit in a way that nothing else can.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. He was the instrument in God's hands, forordained before he was born to be the founder of the Church; the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. We do honor him for what he did in helping God to bring back the Church as it was in Jesus' time before any apostacy or falling away occured by the corruption of men. We honor Joseph Smith, but we do not worship him. Show more Show less

Why don't Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church's law of health and proper diet?

In 1833 a revelation known as the "word of wisdom" was given to Joseph Smith from God. An inquiry had been made through prayer, and the answer given has been proven by modern medine and research to be the best way to live our lives as far our health and physical bodies are concerned. In my opinion, the closer we live to the way Adam and Eve fed their bodies is what will be most helpful to ours. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Families are important to Mormons because they are the building block to society. If families stay together, there will be a strength like nothing else can provide. We want to be together so that we can stay together even after this life and dwell with our Father in Heaven and our ancestors who have gone on before us. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Reading the scriptures helps keep us in the right frame of mind to do the kinds of things that our Heavenly Father and Jesus would like us to do. This is where the best and simplest happiness is. The answers to life's questions are found in the scriptures, and they offer peace. They teach of Eternal Life, which explains that life is not over at death. It is a 'graduation' to eternity. We can return to the presence of our Father in Heaven and a host of family and friends. Show more Show less
