Hi I'm Annette

I was born in MN USA-have a large family, home based business, sew, quilt, care for produce from our garden, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a great grandmother of almost 29, a grandmother of 40+ and a mother of 12. I love to visit with family, do family history, sew, knit, crochet, garden, paint, and quilt. I have a small home based business and am a home based family history missionary. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for His teachings. The gospel has been such a help to me in raising my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was a convert at the age of 14. Her parents accepted the Gospel. They lived in MN and at that time the Church of Jesus Christ had no church buildings there; they held their meetings in people's homes. After meeting the missionaries and hearing about the Gospel, my grandparents walked two miles in the rain that night to get to a cottage meeting as they were called at that time. My grandmother had attended many churches before but had never been baptised in any of them. They didn't feel right to her. When she heard the missionaries, she knew right away it was true. Most of their large famly was baptised. My mother never deviated from the church. She always knew it was true. My father was not a member until they had been married for ten years. He was baptised shortly before I. I have always been active in the church although i made many mistakes along the way. I am so thankful for the atonement and that I have found great peace through repentance and knowing my Heavenly Father has forgiven me.

How I live my faith

I am a home based Family History Missionary Consultant in training. I will be assisting people who write in with questions regarding the Family History website, or who need help in finding their ancestors. I have worked on my personal family history a great deal and am anxious to began assisting others. I work hard at building a year's supply of food and like to encourage everyone I meet to also prepare themselves for times to come.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

We have LDS people serving in government from all parties. The church has never, in any way, told us who to vote for. They just tell us to study the issues and the candidates and to vote!! Show more Show less

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

I am so thankful the church has encouraged us to be prepared. I couldn't imagine not having enough food for my children in times of unemployment or other emergencies so we have always canned and froze food in the summertime. We still have a garden and a small greenhouse even though the children all have their own families. Show more Show less
