Hi I'm Sasha.

I'm a wife, a teacher, I love the outdoors, I think racquetball is the best form of exercise, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a happy, 30-something individual who has much to be grateful for! I love to sing, be outdoors, play racquetball, and go on outings with my husband. I have a cat and bird as pets, but I prefer the cat! (Our bird bites!) We don't have children, but look forward to adopting soon. I am an elementary school teacher, and enjoy it!

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contains the fulness of Jesus Christ's teachings. Everything we need to know in order to return to our heavenly home is taught in this church. I was born into a Mormon home, but I needed to find out for myself whether the church was true or not. After much searching and pondering, I came to the conclusion that it is true. Completely, unequivocally. But you don't have to take my word for it. You can find out for yourself. That's one of the beauties of Christ's gospel. He stands at the door and knocks, saying "Come unto me," inviting us to learn of Him.

How I live my faith

I strive to live the gospel of Jesus Christ 24/7. It can be difficult with all the pressures of the world, but when I do my best, life goes much more smoothly. I try not to let a day go by where I don't read my scriptures and say my prayers, both individually and with my husband. I have a responsibility at church to teach youth the gospel in their freshman through senior years of high school. We meet each morning before school, and study from the scriptures.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Sasha.
Mormonism is the short name for the official name of our church, however we prefer to be recognized by the title which bears the name of Jesus Christ. Still the name "Mormon" is a very significant part of the teachings of the church. You may have heard of the "Book of Mormon." This sacred book is a compilation of records of the people who lived on the American continent at the same time the Bible took place, dating from about 600 BC to 421 AD. Mormon was one of the prophets who recorded a history of these people, and he gathered and abridged the writings of the other prophets whose words are found in the Book of Mormon. He was an amazing man, having been surrounded by wickedness and sorrow, yet remained valiant and strong as a disciple of Christ. His name literally means "more good," which is a constant reminder to me of my duty to stand as a witness of Christ, striving to be a righteous example of good wherever I may be, and in whatever I may do.
