Hi I'm Greg

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of four amazing and wonderful kids. My wife of over 2 decades (has it been THAT long?) has been able to endure my corny jokes and play on words. I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I enjoy my friendships with my family. I'm a Computer guy; I've been in that field in one form or another for the last 25 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was looking for answers to questions about my life and why things happen, basically man's eternal search for the "Meaning of Life". I was 27 and have had a number of experiences in my life. My father's job took the whole family to many places over the years I've lived in Balboa Panama, Mexico City, Bogota Colombia, the Middle of Wisconsin, Kansas City Kansas, Memphis Tennessee, Scottsdale Arizona. So I've learned to appreciate other cultures and perspectives. By the time I was 11 or 12 years old I'd gotten a bit concerned that I hadn't gotten baptized. Our family had never gotten around to doing it for me. In my mind’s eye I had an expectation of what a Baptism should be and look like. I even remember vividly a "snippet" of dream a few nights before by Baptism where two guys dressed in white tossed me a towel after to dry off. When the actual day came however it didn't feel quite right. I only had a few sprinkles of water dropped on my head. You see at that time my parents were members of a Presbyterian church and while they had a great youth program and they taught many true principles, it really never felt complete. Years later, after a few encounters with "members" and after looking for a more complete faith I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. So my Baptism image was complete 15 years later as were the answers to my most pressing "life" questions. We in life are continually challenged to grow and my goal is that my choices are guided by the example of my Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Over the years I've been blessed to witness the examples of true and good works in our church. I personally have been a Scoutmaster, a Primary Teacher and many other duties within the church. I love the concept of having other members be assigned as friends for our family. I also enjoy being able to return the favor by serving families in my neighborhood. I've been honored to be able to sand bag the Mississippi a few years ago during the floods or move rocks and clean up public parks as projects with the our youth.
