Hi I'm Richard

I'm a Wyomingite. I love the Wind River Mountains. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married to the girl of my dreams. We have two beautiful daughters. I enjoy the time that I have with them more than anything else. I like to take time to go into the mountains to savor the beauty and peace there. I like listening to music that inspires and lifts me, and keeps me close to my God and my family. I like all kinds of good music in most genres. My wife is a country music fan, and I have learned to appreciate some truly beautiful songs as she has shared them with me. I am a writer, and I favor writing stories for children; but I feel adults will enjoy my stories as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I was given a copy of The Book of Mormon. I read it and felt that it was most profound and interesting. Then when I prayed about it I was shown by God that it is true. I have also received the answers, as I have prayed for them, that the Mormon Church is true and that Jesus Christ and God live. I never could have dreamed that I would have found so much happiness in this life as I have as a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to look at others, not by their outward appearance, but by the good that I know is in each person. I strive to treat everyone as I'd like to be treated. I especially try to help the elderly, the sick and afflicted, the poor and the needy, and families and individuals who have cause to mourn. I try to cheer and help someone every day.

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?

I have learned that when we love those who hate us, do good to those who persecute us and despitefully use us, and pray for them as He taught us, that great things will happen to us and them. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God the Father is the Supreme Being in whom we believe and whom we worship. He is the ultimate Creator, Ruler, and Preserver of all things. He is perfect, has all power, and knows all things. He "has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's" D&C 130:22. His work and His glory are to bring to pass our immortality and eternal life. He loves each one of us, no matter what we have done. If we turn to Him and ask Him in prayer he will deliver us and show us the way back home to Him. He is kind and merciful and He will answer our prayers. He will help us find the strength to change and to become more like Him. He will be there for us in all places and situations. Show more Show less
