Hi I'm Scott

I am a husband and father. I am a Chemical Engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am a Chemical Engineer. I am a husband and father. I have two beautiful daughters. I enjoy camping and fishing with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon. However, I never really tried to develop my testimony or ask the Lord if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was His church. I went on a mission to Taiwan when I was 20 years old, but I went for the wrong reasons. Trying to serve the Lord when my heart wasn't in it was tough. But it was in Taiwan that I learned, through prayer, that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me. I learned through prayer and study of the scriptures that the Book of Mormon was true. I started to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When I got home from my mission, well, life happened and I allowed myself to neglect that relationship with Christ that I started on my mission. It was so easy to distance myself from my Savior, it took no work at all. Many years later I met a girl. She was also raised in the church, but hadn't been active since she was a young teen. We started talking about religion and church. It was at about that same time two brothers in the church visited me. That visit was probably the first visit I had had from members of the church in about 10 years. Those two brothers and others continued to visit me on a regular basis. They helped my girlfriend and I come back to church and come back to Christ. My girlfriend and I got married. We continued to grow in the gospel. We were married in the temple 14 months later. I know that had I not started to develop a testimony of Jesus Christ when I was on my mission, my wife and I would not be married in the temple. We are still active in the church. We have two beautiful daughters. As a family, and individually we struggle at times doing the right things. But I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's true church. I also know that I need to work hard and maintaining the relationship I have with Christ and work even harder to draw closer to Christ and live as he would have me live.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good example to my family and others. I am always trying to grow and develop my faith in Jesus Christ by being obedient to his teachings and the teachings of the prophets. I try to share my testimony of Jesus Christ with others by sharing some of my life experiences.
