Hi I'm Lee and Jen Sharpe

Lee is a doctor in training, and Jen is a stay at home mom of two.

About Me

Lee: I'm married to a beautiful woman and have two gorgeous daughters. I love going to church and the temple and spending time with my family. I like the outdoors, college football, medicine, science, and reading. I'm an average guy. Jen: I'm married to my best friend Lee. I'm a stay at home mom to two little girls. I love sewing, crafting, exercising, spending time with family, and serving the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

Jen's Story: It all started when my Dad was in the gulf war. He was an arabic interrogator. He had a friend he worked with who was mormon. He asked his friend about his beliefs because he was impressed by the way he lived his life. His friend shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with him, and my Dad felt the spirit and knew it was true. He wrote to my mother and asked her to start attending the LDS church while he was overseas. Two weeks after he came back home my parents were baptized. I was baptized when I turned eight. I always felt good when I was at church, and I never had a doubt about it not being true. I remember praying when I was 15 to know if the church was true or not. I had a strong feeling of peace and joy. I knew it was true and that my Father in heaven is mindful of me, and loves me. I know that I will be with my family for all eternity if I live a good life. I am grateful for the knowledge that families can be together forever. It brings so much peace and hope into my life. I am so grateful that Christ died for me, and gave me the gift of repentance.

How I live my faith

We take our kids to church every Sunday, and try to live our lives as Christ would want us to. We have friends that are not members of our faith, and we try to show them that we are normal people; we try our best to live our faith, and hope that they can see how much it has blessed our lives. We love the Lord, and we know that he loves all of his children. We want to be a good examples to our friends, and we are grateful for their example too. We are grateful for people of all faiths who believe in Christ.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Lee and Jen Sharpe
The name mormon is sort of a nickname for us. We believe in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Mormon is just one of the people who wrote in the Book of Mormon. So people started calling us Mormons. We prefer Latter-Day Saints. We are christians who believe in and worship Jesus Christ, and our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
