Hi I'm Michael

I'm a small town farm boy, an independent filmmaker, a teacher, I"m half Argentine, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As I said up above I'm a small town farm boy, and that describes who I am in a large sense. I grew up bucking hay, fixing fences, and chasing cows. The work I did on the farm taught me the importance of hard work and working with the family. When I was 18 I served a full-time mission for the Church in Buenos Aires, Argentina where I grew to love the people (which was important for me, my father is Argentine), the food, and the gospel. I later went to school and studied advertising and film and I now film independent documentaries and promotional videos, it's a wonderful job. I also teach PE at an elementary school where I've found that kids are amazing and can teach me more then any class can. I think life should be lived, if you have a dream you should pursue it. I think that dreaming and pursuing that dream is what can make life fun.

Why I am a Mormon

Over time I have had the opportunity to travel and talk to many different people from many different backrounds. I've found that there are a lot of people out in this world, from the very rich to the very poor, who are not happy and have no real purpose. The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives me that purpose. In my life I feel peace and security through the gospel. I know what to expect from this life and in the life to come. I know that I will be with my family again. I know that when I make a mistake or am passing through a difficult time in this life that the atonement of Jesus Christ can and will help me and wash away the stain. I am a Mormon because this church has the fullness of that gospel. Becuase of the Book of Mormon and having a modern-day prophet there are truths that have been lost that are now restored and those truths are what bring me peace. I am also a Mormon because I am happy. The gospel and the church bring me increadible happiness and I've see that happiness come to others. And I'm a Mormon because it is true.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is my life. Without the gospel I don't have a life. Every morning when I awake I kneel in prayer. During the day I study the scriptures, I go to church activities, I pray a bit more, and I talk about what I've learned. In my congregation I serve and participate as a teacher and a leader of the brothern. For the most part living my faith comes by trying to do hat the Lord want me to do. I really try to follow the Lords will as described in the scriptures, as given by the prophet, and as I receive it via the spirit. This may sound all consuming, like I don't have time for anything else, but that's not so. I try to do these things as I teach, work on the farm, mountain bike, go grocery shopping, and just live life. Living the gospel makes me a better person and citizen in all I do.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is wonderful. We know the purpose of life, we know that our families can be together forever, we know that there is a living prophet on the earth today just as in anciant times, and we know that Jesus Christ lives and is the head of the Church. Knowing these things gives us increadible joy and that is what God wants from us. Show more Show less
