Hi I'm Michael

About Me

I love learning and Coaching. I am currently an Educational Doctorate Student and a religious educator. I teach the youth as a seminary teacher. My focus and objective is to help youth understand and rely upon the teachings and atonement of Jesus Christ, qualify for the blessings of the temple, and prepare themselves, their families, and others for life with their Father in Heaven. I love water polo! I coached Collegiate Water Polo, High School Water Polo and Age-group Water Polo. I had the opportunity to work with the Olympic Development for the USA Water Polo Association for several years. Currently I coach High School athletes. Our team travels through out the Western United States and competes in the Junior Olympics each year. I have coached Swimming for several years and have helped several high school swim programs. I served a mission for the Church in the Czech Republic. I love the Slavic people, culture, and history. I have some of my dearest friends in that part of the world. I grew up a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The oldest of 8 children, I was taught about scriptures, prayer, and church doctrine at an early age. Now I'm a father to 5 beautiful children where my wife and I try each day to help them come to know our Savior and be better people at home, in the community, and the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Yet, I too had to find out for myself the truthfulness of the gospel. When I was in High School, I really wanted to know if the Book of Momron was true. My wise mother gave me such great advise to ask Heavenly Father. I had read the Book of Mormon and had been a member my whole life yet I felt I needed to know for myself and knew that God would give me an answer. I knelt down at my bedside and thanks Heavenly Father for my blessings, and then poured out my heart to Him seeking His help. The answer came, it was the most amzaing feeling and voice in my heart that simply told me The Book of Mormon was true! I remember that everytime I read the Book of Mormon, as I feel that Spirit continue to tell me it is true. Since then, I have had several experiences that have added to that one, each a simple feeling or event that has borne witness to me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a Church let by Jesus Christ, that we have Apostles and Prophets on the earth, and that the Priesthood is a real power from God.

Personal Stories

Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.

Joseph Smith is one of my Hero's! I believe that he was a called and chosen prophet of God, just like Moses, Elijah, etc. I love that Joseph Smith was human, that he honestly didn't know what he was supposed to do, which led him to seek the guidance and direction of Heavenly Father. The first experience of this was the First Vision. Where at 14 he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. This experience helped Joseph to know who he was, a real child of God, and that they know him and us. This experience wasn't sigular. Whenever Joseph needed to know what to do an Angel didn't just appear or revelation didn't just happen. He sought help from heaven. The reality of this means we can too.

How I live my faith

Daily I seek to live my faith. Personally, I look for ways to come to know my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ by studying the scriptures each day. I pray often and look for opportunities to receive divine guidance. I know that the most important part of living my faith is looking for ways to serve others. As parents, my wife and I seek to raise our children in a Christ-Centered home. We have daily prayer, we try to study our scriptures as a family, we hold a Family Home Evening, where we learn and share about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
