Hi I'm Brett Ryan

Spanish speaking Engineer that is best known as 'DAD' and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a forty+ year old engineer within the Medical device manufacturing field. Just normal by most standards, but I have seen a good part of the world due to my occupation choices. I am a father of six (6) children ranging from 18 years old being my oldest to a five year old child that is full of energy. My wife and I met at college over 23 years ago and we have been married 20 of those years. We are one in purpose usually with raising our children, although my wife is better at it than I am most of the time. We continue to try our best at raising good kids that respect authority and each other.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother and father were members of the Church since I was a child, even though my father really did not practice any religion at all. They always seemed to encourage me to be thoughtful and kind to everyone that I met. Not to focus on me but on others. I continue to live the principles that my parents taught me because of the blessings that I see by living the laws of God. I firmly believe that God speaks to all of us as His children. Through prayer and service I can become more Christ-like here on earth. Because I think more of who my Savior is and how I can contribute back to him through serving others, I become a better person by living the teachings found in the scriptures.

How I live my faith

I live the best that I know how. Giving service to others makes me feel better about myself and creates a genuine love for those around me. Sharing how I feel about new ideas and truths about Jesus Christ creates within me a stronger feeling about my Savior. Working side by side with my family, we mow lawns, do gardening projects, and associate with others around us. I conduct music in our ward choir and love good music in my home and around me. I love to participate in musical productions with my older boys.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Brett Ryan
We believe that children are a heritage from the Lord. Believing that families can be together forever is a huge strength in my live because I enjoy being around my Parents and my children. I may not always agree with their viewpoints, but feel because we were together before this lifetime and will be together afterwards, it's worth a chance to work out our differences and see the big picture. By making covenants in the temple, God can help us become a family that is together forever. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Brett Ryan
Yes, I do. God is the same forever and will not change. I believe that He directs a church now days and has given man His authority to act in His name. Show more Show less
