Hi I'm Marti

I'm a wife, step-mother & aunt. I'm an artistic director, professional pianist, educator and enjoy the outdoors. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was sealed in the temple to my sweetheart in August 2012. I own my own private music studio/business and enjoy life. "I get paid to play" is my mantra - I'm a professional pianist/organist/collaborative artist and teach 40 amazing students piano, voice and organ. I have the opportunity to perform for many different arts organizations in my area, and serve as Artistic Director for one of them. Promoting events on local radio stations is so fun. Recently I was in Utah performing newly composed pieces written by other members of our faith. I've played for parties, weddings, funerals, church services, and any other event you can imagine.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born in the covenant, have ancestors who were in the Willie Handcart Company - all were rescued and made it safely to Zion. I am on the path and hope to rescue others. The gospel is my guiding light, I have chosen to continue to live it because I KNOW it's true. I have prayed and received an answer that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I know we have living prophets on the earth today, and I look forward with a brightness of hope to see my family again.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to teach an Adult Sunday School Class, sing in the choir and play for church services on occasion. Sometimes I am blessed to teach the young children and youth as well serving as a substitute teacher. I also enjoying visiting several women each month - bringing them an uplifting message - praying for them - helping them with their families and life situations and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are amazing, capable, caring, giving and sharing. I have had the opportunity to serve in leadership positions in our Women's Organization - Relief Society. The years serving in that capacity brought great insight to me. Yes, we believe in equality of men and women. Attending planning meetings with the male leadership (Priesthood) brought great joy. My experieces taught me that Womanhood is revered, they support the callings, and are there to assist. When assignments were given, they knew that they would be carried out. Mormon Men and Women work side-by-side, and we are all equal in the eyes of God. Show more Show less
