Hi I'm Janelle

I'm a Nurse Practitioner, an Educator, a world-traveler, and buckets of fun! And I love being Mormon!!

About Me

I am a Nurse Practitioner. I have loved being a nurse and the opportunities it provides to help others in some of their happiest and saddest moments. I am an Educator. I teach nursing full-time at an university. I love the energy of the students and helping them accomplish one of their goals. I love sharing their excitements and frustrations. And I love showing them why nursing could be one of the best jobs ever! I am a wife, daughter, sister, and aunt. I was raised by two amazing parents who continue to be examples to me of the person I want to be. They consistently show me unconditional love and support me in all that I do. I have 2 sisters, a brother, and a brother-in-law. And while we are all very different, we have so much fun together, learning from each other and supporting each other in this roller-coaster called life! I am the proud aunt of 2 adorable nephews and a delightful niece! They bring a smile to my face daily! I recently got married this year and am loving my new role and the blessings of a temple marriage. I am a world traveler. At last count, I have visited 31 different countries. I LOVE exploring God's creations and meeting His children. I love learning from diversity and increasing my understanding and knowledge. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to travel. I love life and all it has to offer and live it to its fullest!

Why I am a Mormon

Because I have read and prayed about the Book of Mormon and I know there is no truer book on Earth today. The Book of Mormon provides direction and guidance. It testifies of God's love and awareness of me. It testifies that Jesus Christ is my advocate and that He has mercy and love and wants me to return to live with Him again someday. He truly is my Redeemer. Because of the pure joy obedience brings. There is a difference between happiness and joy. Happiness is temporary. Faith and obedience to God's commandments brings lasting joy. The more we prove our obedience to our Heavenly Father, the more faith, blessings, and joy we experience in our lives. I love the joy and freedom I have experienced because of my sacrifice and obedience to God's commandments. Because of the constant peace the gospel provides. After baptism, we are confirmed and given the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is a Comforter. He provides peace in a turbulent world. The world is full of sorrow, noise, and constant demands. So many of God's children are looking for peace and direction. The Holy Ghost provides that peace and direction so many yearn for. Even in hard and sorrowful times, the Holy Ghost is there as a constant companion to let me know everything is going to be okay.

How I live my faith

I definitely don't hide my religion from anyone in my life. I try hard to live a Christlike life. I am proud to be LDS and I really believe the more we share with others the more comfortable others will be in asking about it. So, I try to be transparent so all that I come in contact with will #1. know that "normal" people are LDS and #2. I will be able to clear up misconceptions or answer questions. I love helping in the Church! I have learned so much because of my assignments in the Church. My service in the Church has helped develop so many valuable character traits and formed who I am today. We start serving in the church when we are young and the skills and knowledge I have obtained because of that have helped me in and out of the Church. Currently, I am helping in the women's organization (Relief Society) in the Church. The women of the Church are strong and faithful. They are working and fighting with all of their might to protect their values and their families. I love working with and learning from them!

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Janelle
We believe that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. God loves His children on Earth today just as much as He loved His children on Earth during Christ's ministry. It is hard for me to understand why He wouldn't provide Apostles of Christ to His children today. The 12 apostles are special witnesses of Christ and they testify of Him. Their testimonies strengthen mine and create a resolve in me to be better and to come to know my Savior more fully. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Janelle
The first thing that comes to mind is all of the world's stunning creations. The earth is a grandiose and beautiful place full of absolutely beautiful people. I often stand in awe and Heavenly Father's creations. Next, is He has provided us a way to return to live with Him one day, through the sacrifice of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. He has also given us the scriptures and prophets to provide us with guidance and direction on our time here on earth. Lastly, it's that feeling of peace and comfort I get so many times, but especially when I am lonely or struggling or confused. I love that feeling and the re-assurance I receive when I kneel in prayer that He knows me and is aware of me and loves me. Show more Show less
