Hi I'm Dean

About Me

I am the father of eight children happily married to the most beautiful woman in the world. I like to take long bike rides with my kids, mostly to give my wife a break, and hike in the hills. I work in IT. Currently I'm serving as the Scout Committee Chairman for our local Boy Scout troop in our neighborhood.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've felt the Spirit whisper to my heart the truth of the Book of Mormon. I've also received confirmation that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God. So many blessing have come to my life because of that foundation.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by setting a good example for my family and friends. I try to read my scriptures each morning and pray. I live the Word of Wisdom and strive to attend the temple as frequently as I can performing sacred temple work for my deceased ancestors. I'm not perfect, but I'm working on it. Thank goodness for repentance!

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

The reason new members are baptized is to follow the example set by Jesus Christ. He has commanded us that we should all be baptized like he was from someone with the proper authority, by complete immersion representing the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and at the proper age. By age, I mean we must have an understanding of the sacred covenant we are making with God and receive a remission of our sins. Little children do not have this until, per the scriptures, they reach the age of 8. See Moroni 8 page 525 of the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
