Hi I'm Ryland

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an Actuarial Analyst for a Health Insurance Company. I enjoy working hard, learning new things, doing genealogy, volunteering with the Boy Scouts, and most of all: spending time with my wonderful wife and baby boys. I love being around people. I love to talk about my faith, I am not offended by religious questions, and I try not to be offensive or overbearing in my answers to those questions. If you want to learn more about my faith in general, or if you just have a single question, I'd be happy to talk to you.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I grew up with some of my family being mormon, most were not. Though I attended church, I did not live the things the church taught, nor did I know much about what the church taught. It wasn't until the passing of a close mormon family member of mine that I gained a desire to learn more about my church. In my teenage years I began trying to live the teachings of my church, one step at a time. Each time I chose to obey the Lord, I could feel of His love. I am a mormon because this church has brought me closer to the Savior than any other thing. This church has helped me develop my personal relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ, more than any other thing. I love the Lord, and I love this church.

How I live my faith

I go to church, work with the youth, I visit other members of my congregation and try to strengthen them, and I strive to live the commandments of Jesus Christ. However, it's not reading the scriptures, saying prayers, going to church, or other such things that is the full substance of my religion, though those things are important. Its how I treat others. I do my best to be kind to all, to help and reach out. I hope I can do that for as many as I can.
