Hi I'm Brent

I'm an Arizona native, a work-from-home front end web developer, an aspiring animator, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a dad to five kids, a work-from-home front-end web developer, and a graduate of film school. I like to pretend that I'm a gardener.

Why I am a Mormon

My involvement in the youth programs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints afforded me opportunities to practice living a lifestyle that was firmly rooted in the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Early morning scripture study classes throughout high school, weekly youth activities, participation in youth conferences, and an awesome set of friends who shared my same standards gave me comfortable testing grounds for living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I like to volunteer at my kids' school. I don't know that I can ever fully appreciate the amount of work that a school teacher puts in on a daily basis with a classroom full of students, but I have tried to get over to my kids' school once every other week to volunteer for a couple of hours. Kids have an inherent capacity to love, to show that love, and share that love. It's impossible for me to be there among them and not feel happier and better about life after having served them.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We regard him as a prophet of God, or a man who has spoken directly with God for the benefit of the rest of the world. We hold a special respect for the work that he accomplished in his lifetime as a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. That work was to bring back the Church of Jesus Christ as it was established in New Testament times. For me personally, the success of Joseph Smith's work is evidence of our Lord Jesus Christ's work to bring back His Church. Because of the life and teachings of the prophet Joseph Smith, I understand that I pray to my Heavenly Father, and that these prayers are only interceded by the Lord Jesus Christ and no one else.
