Hi I'm Immo

I grew up in New Zealand. I am studying towards a degree in Management. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I shared my time growing up, between New Zealand and Holland. I have been married to my wife for 15 years and we have 3 children together. I love hiking and camping in the beautiful nature our Father in Heaven has created here in New Zealand. I also enjoy fishing and riding motor bikes, either on or off the road.

Why I am a Mormon

There was a point that I came to the conclusion that there must be more to life than the empty existence I was living. Happiness was fleeting, there was no peace. I found the gospel of Jesus Christ. The comfort that I have felt from the closeness of my Saviour, and the Holy Spirit. It is worth more than all the money in the world. This gospel is the only one that answers all the questions, that continues on and that makes eternal sense. That cannot be found anywhere else and the world doesn't hold the answers. It tells me that I am a son of God and that I have divine, unlimited potential. To know that there is a God and that he still speaks, and will answer me if I faithfully seek Him. It is the most encouraging, hopeful thing that I have ever experienced and can ever imagine. I know that God is real, that his Son is Jesus Christ, and that he provided the example for all to emulate. He provided the way for us to reach the divine potential that our Father in heaven knows that we have.

How I live my faith

I serve as the Bishop of the congregation in my area. This could be compared to a Pastor or Priest etc in other faiths. This is a lay ministry and as such I study full time and have part time employment as well as my church calling. I love being able to serve in this capacity, there is so much that I can do to help others.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe that everyone is saved by grace, but not by grace alone. The grace of God is available to all who repent and live their lives in harmony with revealed doctrines and principles. The Saviour touched upon this principle, when he spoke to the woman accused of Adultery. "Go thy way, and sin no more" He said. Not only did she need to believe in him, her actions needed to be her very best to keep sin from her life. We all need to do our best to keep our lives free from sin, and when we do make mistakes, sincerely repent and sin no more. Therefore we believe that it is by grace we are saved, after all we can do. We believe that through this grace, God provides for the salvation of little children, the mentally impaired, and those who lived without hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

We should have faith in God the eternal Father, His Son, Jesus Christ and The Holy Ghost. These three seperate beings have one purose, to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. This means that they will do all that they can to help us in our journey here on this earth. What a encouraging, uplifting thought, to know that the God of the universe, his Son and the Holy Spirit have our eternal happiness as their main goal. Faith in them cannot be misplaced and will bear fruit. Show more Show less
