Hi I'm Daniel

I am from Chile I've been studying in the USA since 2007. I love composing music and creating stuff. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am from Santiago, Chile, and lived there until I got married in 2007 and came to the United States to study Business Management and Marketing. My wife is half Uruguayan-half Spanish and we have a 2-year-old daughter. I love music and I've been involved in rock bands and choirs since I was about 10 years old, with whom I've participated in arranging music and recording studio albums. I'm currently working on a solo album.

Why I am a Mormon

My dad joined the LDS Church back in 1968 when there were only a handful of Mormons in Chile. Because of this I grew up learning about Christ and the restoration of the gospel, but there was an inflection point during my teens that I felt I had to figure out on my own whether all I had learned was true or if it was just a good fantasy. I figured that the only way to get to know by myself whether the gospel was true or not was by practicing it. As I focused on this, my life changed and I got to see the results of living this "restored gospel" by myself and not through anyone else's experiences. Eventually, I came to know with a certainty that this gospel, the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to keep up with what I promised to do when I got baptized, which is, bottom line, trying to be like Jesus Christ. The whole purpose of God's commandments is to help us do so, so I try to keep his commandments and to repent when I notice I'm not keeping up to these standards. The awesome thing is that, contrary to conventional wisdom, trying to follow Christ's example in my daily life has never alienated me from others that don't share my faith; in fact, doing this has helped me develop more and much more meaningful relationships with my friends; I've never felt I'm an abnormal person because of living my faith, actually doing so has helped me feel more integrated with friends and society in general. I love living my faith because I know it's true!

Are Mormons Christians?

It depends on what you mean by "Christian", of course. If you define it by what the word actually means and implies--i.e., being a follower of Christ--, of course we are! Christ is the center of our faith, and nothing else can replace him. Show more Show less

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

For me, there would be no point in getting married if there wasn't a possibility to actually make that relationship eternal. I've been married for almost 4 years, and these years have been the best years of my life; I just can't imagine heaven without my family, it would be a punishment and not a reward as the scriptures teach. Gladly, the same scriptures teach that families can be together forever as long as they remain faithful to God and to each other. Show more Show less
