Hi I'm Ryan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a native of southern Nevada, born and raised. I have a beautiful wife and 3 awesome kids. I served a mission in the Florida Tampa Mission from 92-94. I love camping, biking, and just generally being outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but like most life long members, I had to come to believe in what I was doing for myself. It's one thing to listen to your parents telling you that it is the right thing, but it is a totally different thing to find out about it's truthfulness for yourself. I accepted the challenge to read the Book of Mormon, to study it's text, to ponder what it was telling me. I then got on my knees and asked Heavenly Father to help me to know if what I was reading was true. I felt the unmistakable warmth that is the confirmation of the Holy Ghost, bearing witness to me that what I was reading was true. If the Book of Mormon is true, Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, he saw what he saw, and spoke with God the Father and Jesus Christ. I'm far from perfect, but thanks to the Atonement of the Savior Jesus Christ, I can repent, and again become clean. I am grateful for that knowledge that I am a child of God, and that if I follow him, obey his commandments, and endure to the end, that I will once again be able to return to his presence.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the Young Mens organization working with the 14 and 15 year old boys. Our hopes is that we can help these boys understand how to magnify their priesthood, how to live chaste and Christ like lives, and how to be an active part of their community and church.
