Hi I'm Roland

I was born and raised in France. I am a husband, a father, a runner, a family historian and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my beautiful wife for over 15 years and I have the privilege to be the father of four wonderful children. My job consists in helping people discover their ancestors and experience the joy that comes from within the Family and Family History. Families are meant to be central to our lives and family relationships are intended to continue beyond this life and so therefore I believe that all family members—those living, those past, and those future—share an enduring bond that reaches across the generations. With that perspective, we encourage all people to seek out their ancestors and preserve their family histories. I love to spend time with my family, run, ride my road bike and write. I strive to balance Family, Church service and Work everyday. I currently live in France and I feel deep gratitude for the opportunity to live my faith to the best of my ability.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply, I am a Mormon because I know that the Gospel principles taught and lived in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are true. I also know of myself that the doctrines of Christ are true without any doubt! The Spirit confirmed it to me. I invite you to read more about how I came to know these things by visiting my blog link in the right section: Follow Me On. It is titled: Reflections of a Mormon. There you will find a section with my conversion story and testimony. Truth is everywhere but I know that the Church of Jesus Christ [of Latter-Day Saints] contains the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After a lot of prayers and reading of the sacred scriptures, the Holy Ghost has confirmed its truth to me. I know that this Church is lead by Jesus Christ himself and that he has chosen a prophet and twelve apostles to give us instructions. I know that in His church we can find all the necessary gospel ordinances that will lead us to Christ and the Eternal Father. I do know these things for myself not through my weak knowledge, but because God answers our prayers when they are sincere and filled with faith. And he answered mine when I really wanted to know! The example of the Savior and his perfect life has helped me discover myself. I still have a lot to learn about Him. Improvement is the key to happiness, success and growth and it is only lasting but, through the master's touch. I love God, the Father with all my heart. I know he is real. I know that he is all-powerful and loving. I feel his influence so strongly in my life that I cannot deny it! I love Jesus Christ so much that I decided to follow him for the rest of my life! He is just as real. I know that the Holy Ghost bears powerful testimony of our Father in Heaven, Jesus Christ and the truth of all things. That's why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I simply live my faith by striving to apply all the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ I am fortunate to learn continuously. I truly believe that while much learning can happen in reading and studying, the true essence of understanding is in the doing. I consider each day as an opportunity to make a difference and strive to do just that in my interactions with others. My love for my Savior has developped a deep sense of caring for those I come in contact with. I have learned that the more I live the way He wants me to live, the more I want to be better and the more I want to become a source of good for those around me. I currently serve as a stake president serving multiple congregations in France and perhaps the greatest blessing this calling has been to me is the opportunity to witness the power of the Atonement of Christ in the life of His children. I have the opportunity to serve a community of ward and stake members and friends, and strive each day to provide spiritual guidance, love and support, and above all, service.

Who are the Mormons?

"Mormons" are Christians. We are called Mormons because of an ancient record abridged by a prophet named Mormon, concerning the people living on the American continent. It is an ancient record that has been given to us, for the benefit of man, and is another witness of Jesus Christ as the Bible. The Book of Mormon gives us further light on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, His life through the testimonies of ancient prophets, and an account of their civilization. Accompanied with the Bible, the Book of Mormon helps us all to understand the divine mission of the Savior and the way He established His church on earth.Mormons love the Lord. We also love the people around us. Families are a divine gift from God that we want to preserve. We have a living religion, and strive to live it day after day.Mormons have a heritage of faith since the restoration of the Gospel in our day. The early Mormon pioneers set the example of faith, traveling in their wagons and handcarts across the United States so they could freely live their beliefs; sometimes sacrificing all they had to follow the commandments of the Lord. Because of the exceeding faith of these Mormon pioneers, great blessings were bestowed upon generation after generation. Mormons are a “simple” people that have dedicated their lives to serving the Lord.Through studying the scriptures, anyone can see that the teachings found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are the teachings of Jesus Christ. He personally has established His Church. The doctrines of the gospel of Jesus Christ found in the Church are not man made, but rely on revelations given through prophets from the day of Adam to our day. The gospel of Jesus Christ contains all the truth for those who diligently seek it. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a volume of Holy Scripture comparable to the Bible. It is a record of God's dealings with the ancient inhabitants of the Americas and contains, as does the Bible, the fullness of the everlasting gospel. The book of Mormon contains a record of three separate migrations of people from the Holy Land to the Western Hemisphere. The crowning event, recorded in the Book of Mormon, is the personal ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ among these people soon after his resurrection. It puts forth the doctrines of the Gospel, outlines the plan of salvation, and tells men what they must do to gain peace in this life and eternal salvation in the life to come. To me personally and to the world, the Book of Mormon is a second witness of Jesus Christ. It has truly brought me closer to Christ than any other book I read. The book of Mormon is truly the word of God for our time and confirms the truths of the Bible to anyone who will earnestly read it. The Book of Mormon has changed my life! Show more Show less
